The Colorado Legislature passed a number of new employment laws this past session. Michelle Ferguson is a shareholder and member of the Firm’s special districts practice group, and she leads the Firm’s employment law practice group. Ms. Ferguson serves as general counsel to special districts throughout the state of Colorado, providing legal advice on issues regarding Board governance, open meetings laws, open records, elections, TABOR and contracts.
Further, she conducts anti-discrimination training, drafts employment agreements, non-disclosure and other employment-related contracts, and also drafts and counsels employers on appropriate personnel policies, disciplinary actions and forms. Additionally, Ms. Ferguson conducts independent investigations regarding claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
